went live yesterday

Yes, I know, I wasn’t planning to post about my work here, but one of the side projects I’ve been working on over the last few months has been a community site for CorelDRAW. It finally went live yesterday and I can’t wait to see the great things users of products from the CorelDRAW family are doing. While it is still ramping-up, the initial 24 hours of availability are very promissing. If you want to find out for yourself, go to I will have a second blog on that site for all things related to Graphics in general and CorelDRAW products in particular.

  1. Dear Gerard:

Glad to see a CorelDraw community site exists although getting it to work with the password given to me is impossible. Anyway … since you are the apparent honcho with influence and who may add new features to Corel Draw X3, let me suggest more info and features with regard to integrating sound into pages of CorelDraw. I have no problem importing photos onto a page and laying out text. And then converting to PDF … which is what I do. Sound clips are another matter. Either I am real dumb! (a possibility) or I just can’t figure out how to incorporate sound (music or speech) onto a CorelDraw page and publish it to PDF! Manual mentions sound along with graphics … but that is it! ???????

As it is now … I publish the CorelDrawX3 pages to PDF and add sound later!!!! with Adobe Acrobat Professional 6 or 7!

I am a writer and also design and layout pages of books and publications for Silver Bolo Books which publishes manuscripts on digital paper only and distributes them on CD’s!

See that you come fom Switzerland, spent time in London and now live in Ottawa (a very pleasant Canadian city) … all great places. Drove all over Switzerland in the early 1950’s on a German motorcycle! Lived in Sttugart at the time. Also had a girlfriend on the Isle of Wight in the UK. I sure have had a great life!
